Gordon Bok, a folk music legend whose musical history stretches back decades, comes to Woodview Coffee House on Friday, March 5th. At a time when folk music was experiencing a great revival, Gordon became a leader in preserving, collecting, creating and sharing a wide variety of rich and intensely beautiful songs of both land and sea. His mastery of both 6- and 12-string guitars added to his already well-developed vocal expression to create an unmistakable style that has carried him through decades of being one of our most cherished folk artists.
June 4 -- Gatorbone brings a special bluegrass touch when they come to Woodview Coffee House in June to top off our 6th season. Fronting the group are Lis and Lon Williamson of Keystone Heights, Florida. Lis's guitar and banjo, with Lon's upright bass lines provide the grounding force for their group. Known for their fine duets -- check out "She" on YouTube -- the Williamson's bring a sense of musical genius to every song they play.
April 9th -- Scott and Michelle Dalziel bring their high energy music to Woodview Coffee House April 9th. The Dunnellon duo have been named Newfolk finalists at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival in 2004 and 2007. And Michael Smith (our May special guest) says of them "Scott and Michelle opened for me and I was knocked out by their great songs, singing, and playing. They were great!" The fresh and soulful sounds of Scott and Michelle's voices, combined with their high energy performance, memorable and meaningful songwriting, and instrumental finness, put them in a category all their own.
